Description

This BBQ Pulled Chicken is a sweet and tangy dish that’s easy to prepare in a slow cooker.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (use your favorite brand)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker. You don’t need to cut or sear them—just lay them flat so they cook evenly.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and garlic powder. This sweet and tangy mixture is what gives this BBQ chicken its mouthwatering flavor.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the Crockpot. Use a spoon to gently flip and coat each piece, ensuring it’s fully covered.
  4. Set your slow cooker to low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours. The chicken should be tender and easily shred with a fork when it’s done.
  5. Once the chicken is fully cooked, remove it from the Crockpot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the pot and stir to let it soak up all the flavorful juices.
  6. Pile the BBQ pulled chicken onto toasted buns, stuff it into wraps, or spoon it over rice or baked potatoes. However you serve it, it’s sure to be a hit.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a dash of smoked paprika or cayenne pepper to the sauce mixture.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
