Description

This delicious Cherry Chocolate Trifle combines layers of chocolate cake, cherry pie filling, and whipped cream for a delightful dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate cake or brownies, cubed
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling or canned cherries
  • 2 cups whipped cream or whipped topping
  • 2 tablespoons cherry juice or kirsch (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate shavings or curls

Instructions

  1. Bake your chocolate cake or brownies and allow to cool completely. Cut into cubes.
  2. Open the cherry pie filling or canned cherries. Optional: mix with cherry juice or kirsch.
  3. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  4. In a trifle dish, layer cake cubes, drizzle with cherry juice, add cherries, then whipped cream.
  5. Repeat the layers until the dish is full.
  6. Finish with a layer of whipped cream, cherries, and chocolate shavings on top.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
