This delicious Cherry Chocolate Trifle combines layers of chocolate cake, cherry pie filling, and whipped cream for a delightful dessert.

- 2 cups chocolate cake or brownies, cubed
- 1 cup cherry pie filling or canned cherries
- 2 cups whipped cream or whipped topping
- 2 tablespoons cherry juice or kirsch (optional)
- 1/4 cup chocolate shavings or curls
Instructions
- Bake your chocolate cake or brownies and allow to cool completely. Cut into cubes.
- Open the cherry pie filling or canned cherries. Optional: mix with cherry juice or kirsch.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
- In a trifle dish, layer cake cubes, drizzle with cherry juice, add cherries, then whipped cream.
- Repeat the layers until the dish is full.
- Finish with a layer of whipped cream, cherries, and chocolate shavings on top.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- This trifle can be made a day ahead; just keep refrigerated until serving.
- Feel free to substitute fresh cherries when in season.
