Description
A delicious baked pasta dish featuring rigatoni or penne, lean ground beef, and a cheesy tomato sauce.

- 12 oz rigatoni or penne pasta
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 28 oz canned whole peeled tomatoes (crushed)
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil salted water in a large pot and cook pasta until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onions in olive oil until translucent. Add garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
- Add ground beef to the skillet; cook until browned, breaking up any large chunks.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper; bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Allow to rest for five minutes before serving.
Notes
- This dish can be made ahead of time and baked when you’re ready.
- Feel free to substitute the pasta shape with your favorite.
