Description

A moist and flavorful cake infused with limoncello and topped with a lemon glaze.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • ½ cup limoncello liqueur
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and lemon zest.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in limoncello liqueur and milk until smooth. Gradually fold in dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack. Once cooled, drizzle with lemon glaze made from powdered sugar and lemon juice.
