Description
Deliciously golden and melted ham and cheese sandwiches made in an air fryer, perfect for a quick meal.
Ingredients

- 8 slices bread
- 8 slices cheese (or roughly ½ cup shredded cheese per sandwich)
- 8 slices ham
- 4 tbsp butter (softened, at room temperature)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 370ºF (185ºC). Spread a thin layer of butter (or mayonnaise) on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one bread slice butter-side down. Layer with a slice of cheese, the folded ham, the second slice of cheese, and the top piece of bread (butter-side up).
- (Basket-Style Air Fryers): Place the sandwich in the basket and cook at 370ºF (185ºC) for 5 minutes. Carefully remove the toothpick, flip the sandwich, and cook for 3 more minutes until golden brown and melted.
- (Convection-Style Air Fryers): Place sandwiches on the racks and set the timer for 8 minutes at 370ºF (185ºC). Halfway through cooking, flip the sandwiches AND swap the top and bottom racks to ensure even crisping.
- Remove from the air fryer, let rest for 1 minute so the cheese sets slightly, slice in half, and enjoy!
Notes
- You can substitute mayonnaise for butter if preferred.
- Adjust the cooking time based on your air fryer model for best results.
