- 1 cup Dr Pepper soda
- ¼ cup soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 packet onion soup mix (about 1 oz)
- ½ tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- Sear the beef: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown beef on all sides for about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Add to Crockpot: Transfer seared beef to the crockpot and pour in Dr Pepper and soy sauce.
- Season: Sprinkle garlic powder, onion soup mix, and black pepper evenly over the beef.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until fork-tender.
- Shred and serve: Use two forks to shred beef right in the crockpot, mixing it with remaining juices.
