Description
Delicious roasted artichokes packed with flavor, perfect as an appetizer or side dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pieces Fresh artichokes (Choose ones that feel heavy for their size and have tightly closed leaves.)
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil (Enhances the natural taste.)
- 2 tablespoons Lemon juice (Prevents browning.)
- 3 cloves Garlic cloves (Minced; adjust based on preference.)
- to taste Salt (Essential for balancing flavors.)
- to taste Pepper (Essential for balancing flavors.)
- 1 teaspoon Dried oregano (Imparts a Mediterranean flair.)
- 1/2 teaspoon Red pepper flakes (Adds a touch of heat.)
Instructions
- Trim the tops and cut the stems of the artichokes. Remove tough outer leaves until you reach the tender, light green ones.
- Rinse the artichokes under cold water to remove any dirt. Soak them in a bowl of water with lemon juice for about 10 minutes.
- Mix olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Coat each artichoke generously with this mixture.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place each seasoned artichoke on a sheet of aluminum foil and fold it tightly to create a packet.
- Arrange the foil-wrapped artichokes on a baking sheet and roast for about 45-50 minutes.
- Carefully unwrap the foil packets and serve warm with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For a stronger garlic flavor, add more minced garlic to the coating mixture.
- Artichokes can be served with a garlic butter dip for extra flavor.
