Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Fresh artichokes (Choose ones that feel heavy for their size and have tightly closed leaves.)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil (Enhances the natural taste.)
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice (Prevents browning.)
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves (Minced; adjust based on preference.)

  • to taste Pepper (Essential for balancing flavors.)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano (Imparts a Mediterranean flair.)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red pepper flakes (Adds a touch of heat.)

Instructions

  1. Trim the tops and cut the stems of the artichokes. Remove tough outer leaves until you reach the tender, light green ones.
  2. Rinse the artichokes under cold water to remove any dirt. Soak them in a bowl of water with lemon juice for about 10 minutes.
  3. Mix olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Coat each artichoke generously with this mixture.
  4. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Place each seasoned artichoke on a sheet of aluminum foil and fold it tightly to create a packet.
  6. Arrange the foil-wrapped artichokes on a baking sheet and roast for about 45-50 minutes.
  7. Carefully unwrap the foil packets and serve warm with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice or your favorite dipping sauce.
